Ron Potts - Operations Manager

Ron started in the industry in 1981, when he spent his first 16 years managing a contract operating business. He then spent five years as an area production technician for Suncor Energy, followed by another four years as the superintendent at Northrock Resources.

Ron has been with Bonnetts since 2005, initially developing the Optimization department with his years of production experience. At the beginning of 2008, he took over Bonnetts Slickline division, applying his management skills and business understanding from the customer's perspective to help spur Bonnetts continued growth.

Jeff McKinlay - Base Manager - Grande Prairie

Jeff started in the industry in 1995. In 1999, he joined Bonnetts Energy and has since taken on various roles and responsibilities. Through a grassroots start and years of field experience, Jeff has a wide perspective and insight into its people and equipment. As the support centre for stations in Alberta and British Columbia, Jeff is counted on by all base managers for support. Jeff’s training and experience with high-pressure braided line operations afforded him the opportunity to work on the world’s deepest well, at the time, in the Amazon Jungle.

Bruce Syme - Base Manager - Fox Creek

Bruce’s career in the oil and gas industry started back in 1985 when he got his first taste of the slickline world. He spent some time in the mining sector before working in a sawmill. He then returned to the industry as a slickline assistant in Fort St. John in 1999.

Bruce started with Bonnetts in 2000 and has moved up the ranks, becoming one of our most experienced supervisors. In his role as the base manager in Fox Creek, he looks after one of the busiest regions in the country.

Eugene Churchill - Base Manager - Manning

Eugene started his career in the oil and gas industry in 1992. Prior to this, he was a journeyman carpenter working in construction. Eugene started as a shophand in Whitecourt and worked his way up to a supervisor. In 1998, he moved to Manning where he gained experience as a base manager. In 2002, Eugene started working with Bonnetts as Base Manager for Manning, where he continues to look after our customers in the North.

Evan Feener - Base Manager - Fort St. John

Like a lot of young workers at the turn of the millennium, Evan started his career on the service rigs in 2000. He soon decided to join Bonnetts in 2001 as an assistant in Fort St John. Evan spent three years with a competitor from 2005 – 2008 before rejoining Bonnetts as a supervisor in Fort St. John. In 2013, Evan took over as Base Manager in Fort St. John and continues to look after our North-Eastern BC operations.

Darcy Johnston - Base Manager – Rocky Mountain House

Darcy grew up on a farm in the Rocky Mountain House area. He started on the service rigs in 1991. After a couple years, he discovered that helping slickline rig in and out was what he wanted to pursue, and he started working as a slickline assistant in 1993. Darcy worked for several slickline companies over the next 16 years. He moved up through the ranks and managed operations in Whitecourt and Drayton Valley. In 2011, he moved to Bonnetts in Rocky Mountain House where he was quickly promoted to Base Manager.
